I wont call this 'classic superman', its superman PERIOD. any other version of this costume is wrong.

Mostly agree with you, although I agree with many that the red underpants part is too out of place in modern times, and leaves the character too open to snarky humor.  That being said, the New 52 version goes to the opposite extreme, and is even worse: it's pseudo-Liefeld, and is drawn as body armor.  Unless the sun is about to go red any minute, Superman does not need body armor!
